Wood Properties

We will be learning about the difference that kiln dried lumber can make on the stability and longevity of a project, the different ways lumber is cut, and important properties of various species. We'll talk about grain direction, hardness, workability, and how wood takes stain or reacts in UV light. We'll also talk about plywood.

This is the first in a series of woodworking conversations. It is not necessary to have attended previous Craft Courses in order to understand.

You will get the chance to router, sand, and finish a pair of nested charcuterie boards for you and your cutie! These love themed boards are fully functional and they will surely serve as a constant reminder of a fun date night and an enduring relationship. Bring your valentine for a crafty date night, or make it as surprise gift for your loved one! (Even if you aren't sure you LOVE love each other yet, it would still be a cute thing to do)
