Thank you for supporting your local woodworking supply store in 2024. You have made this one of the best years for the woodworking community in the Appalachian Highlands Area. We are so excited for what's happening in 2025!

You may notice that we've been adding dozens of your projects to our website! We love sharing what you make. It's beautiful to see our lumber turn into such masterpieces, and your work encourages new woodworkers to dive deeper into the craft.

We appreciate everyone who participated in this year's Cutting Board Competition! We had a plethora of methods and techniques used to make creative boards. Congrats to Tom Soike and Nate Willis on winning this year's competition! We can't wait to see next year's entries.

We have had some amazing participation with our Craft Course Woodworking Classes in the past couple years. We're excited to bring back some familiar topics like flattening, joinery, and finishing, while diving deeper into conversations about wood, woodworking techniques, and you'll even have the chance to make more helpful jigs to get more out of your tools and equipment! 

Get your friends and family involved! We're working on more crafts that you can make together with your loved ones! Cutting boards, birdhouses, decorative shelves, and more! Let us know what else you want to build!

In this class we will be learning about the difference that kiln dried lumber can make in the stability and longevity of a project, the different ways lumber is cut, and important properties of various species. We'll talk about grain direction, hardness, workability, and how wood takes stain or reacts in UV light. We'll also talk about plywood.

This is the first in a series of woodworking conversations. It is not necessary to have attended previous Craft Courses in order to understand.

Keep an eye out for some big events in 2025! We'll be celebrating 4 years in May, hosting our Community Tool Sale on the weekend of the Tree Streets Yard Sale, and bringing back our 5th Annual Cutting Board Competition in November.
